It happens every year...or three.

Yes, I'm spring cleaning.
Let the banging begin.

P.S.

Doors are banging, too- because Magoo is trying to hide. ;)
He does not participate or care.
I trick him by saying the word banging.
That's a word that makes a man hustle downstairs
from his man cave!

Answers

I owe a couple of bloggers some answers.
I've been tagged and awarded!
I am pressed for time, so I thought that
 I'd do a condensed version.
I really do appreciate the shout out, ladies!
Thanks so much to
and to
Meegan at What Meegan Makes.

A few answers-

I've been blogging since May of 2011.
What's my focus? Ha!  None of that around here.

My favorite blogger?
It was Marian, MMS herself, who inspired me
 to take the leap.
No agenda, no pressure. Just do it, she said.
I was at Luckett's the weekend she moved
into her outdoor space.
That was almost a year ago.  How things have changed!
She'll always be my favorite because she gave me
the courage to put my toe into the water.
Thanks, Marian!

My favorite dessert?
Chocolate Cake.
Chocolate Pecan Frosting.
Fork.
I don't share.

What do I like to do when I have free time?
Read real books. See movies. Bake. Sew. Embroider.
Sit and enjoy the quiet.
I am in LOVE with quiet.

A few favorite things?
Massages.
Fresh flowers.
Lemons.
Books.
Orange toe nails
The smell of fresh rosemary.
Laughing.
History.
Vintage linens.
Anything my boys made for me.
Crazy old Bette Davis movies.
(I know they weren't intended as comedy, but how she makes me laugh when she gets crazy eyes!)

Do I get writer's block or struggle
to come up with blog ideas?
No, never.  I am always doing ten things at once
so I have plenty to blog about.
I just don't want to be a slave to the computer.

My favorite singer/band?
I like all kinds of music except rap...
it makes my ears bleed.
Right now I'm listening to James Morrison,
Maroon 5, Bruno Mars, and Gavin DeGraw.
I love 80's music.
I'm a little bit country, I'm a little bit rock and roll.
(First person to call me out on that verse wins something!)
And I love Adele, but geeez...that girl makes me depressed.

Last thing I pinned on Pinterest?
I love this!

Hope you'll visit J.R and Meegan~

I'm off to work out in the backyard.
The drought last year did a lot of damage,
so there's much to do.
I've completed several projects,
but haven't taken the time to draft a post.
Maybe tonite?

Before I go, I have a prayer request please.
My son has a friend who is at the neurologist today
and undergoing a brain MRI.
They suspect a brain tumor, but there are environmental toxins in play, so the MRI is step one.
She's a new mom and
her husband was just deployed.
I spent some time with her on the phone last night.
She's out of state and away from her family.
She's so scared and all alone.
I know she'd really appreciate your prayers.
Hang in there, T.
You can get through this, sweet girl.

Thanks, friends!

Amuse Me Monday

I opened my email from Urban Outfitters this morning and
saw this.

You know that snarky Pinterest poster that says
"I seriously doubt that you are LOL'ing
as much as you claim"?

Well, people.
In this case I was laughing out loud.
Seriously, don't doubt it.

(I'm not grabbing the poster 'cuz I don't want to get sued and then need to employ a smarmy attorney to get me and the jackdonkeys at Pinterest
out of the
Creek Of Shizz.)

Rainbow platforms.
It's SO weird to be of an age where things that were SO bad the first time,
are everywhere for the youth of today.
And still SO bad!
I'm still laughing.
Who doesn't want to LOL as much as possible?
I want to LMAO as much as possible
because MA is large and laughing is good for the soul.

No, I won't be purchasing these shoes.
I will say that my twelve year old self
would've been rocking these babies with my patchwork jaaanes from House of Jeans,
pink SuperFox tee and John Denver hippie hat.
I know.  Jealous?
Oh yeah- I was a hipster doofus way before Kramer.

Which reminds me-
I was wearing that outfit on the day we took pictures for the time capsule we buried in junior high.
I was captured in that too cool for school get up
for all eternity.
Uh oh.  I wonder if they dug that stuff up yet?
I would love to get my hands on those photos.
I think I was in a tree.
Like a skirl.

(Please don't get your panties in a wad, dear internet spell check po-lice.
I say skirl because my kids did.
Don't be a hater.)

Thanks for the butt slimming laughter this morning
UO.
You're super cool.

And if any of you have young hipster daughters
that have their eye on these Rainbow Brite plats-
please let them be amazing in them.
They can apologize to you later.
When they are forty.
No, strike that.
They need not apologize for being awesome.
Ever.

$170 and sold out.
(They are not at UO)

DIY anyone?  Homemade play-doh and
some repurposed sandals?

LMAO,

A Corgi Hello

Happy St. Paddy's Day!

My models only suffered the humiliation of the
big green sequined bow for a minute or two.
Come on, Henry...
was it really so bad?
What a pitiful face!

Piano Bench Love

The piano bench is the most popular seat in our house
when it comes to the shorties.
It was time for some new threads for this girl.

Some new fabric and paint
and she's ready for some new tunes.
I used Annie Sloan Old White and Duck Egg Blue,
then dark AS wax.

Lots of good times happened here.
Little fingers dancing and little toes tapping
to the happy tunes they learned and performed with pride.

Under construction...
House of Blues comes to the house.

Ready for tune time and little fingers.

Hope you have a fun filled weekend
doing whatever makes you happy~

Salutations!

I found this tiny table at a local architectural salvage place I love.

It sat in the corner of the third floor landing, pitiful and all alone.

Le Grand Hotel No-Tell
for
Miss Charlotte and all her baby spiders.

After a quick clean up and all that Charlotte business had been taken care of,
she got a new home here with Sophie.

A couple of quick coats of Chalk Paint by Annie Sloan and she's feelin' fine now.
I used Duck Egg Blue and Old White, then gave it a coat of clear wax.
I added the dark wax in for some depth in the carvings.
She's pretty now.

  No Charlotte, no spider babies.

Her new job requires that she stand tall and afford a little lift to certain keeps around the house.

She's a plant stand, she's a pedestal, she's a lady.
(Whoa, whoa, whoa, she's a lady.)
Why is that hip shakin' Tom Jones stuck in my head?
I must need food.
I always get disturbing thoughts when I'm hungry.

Charlotte: I'm versatile.
Wilbur: Does that mean full of eggs?
Charlotte: Certainly not.
Versatile means I can change with ease from one thing to another.

She will receive her new guests soon.
Maybe a sweet little pig?

Thanks for having me, Karen.
It's been a pleasure.
Safe travels!

Bodily (Mal)Function

There are moments in life which cause me
to cuss uncontrollably .
The above photo is not me, but rather a representation of what caused said cussing on Tuesday afternoon.
I looked just like this.  I know I did.

This sweet little girl and I got tangled up in quite a mess
 with each other.
With help from a rolling chair,
I was launched into the entry way past the piano and not quite to the wood floors which would have felt much better than the cold hard tile.

Faceplant.

Landing gear not down.
Flaps didn't hold.
No crew for emergency landing.
Slow motion
holy shit moment.

You get the picture.

I'm nursing my ouchies.

Magoo is gonna make up for my road trip rescue
this weekend.
He only had to come downstairs for mine.
Baby girl wasn't hurt, but I think Henry probably laughed like hell at the sight of us.
I would have.  I'm mean like that.
I don't know whether I was an I Love Lucy moment
or an episode of Jack Ass.
But, I would have laughed.
Sophie was traumatized so she feels better if she's in bed, too.
We'll be there a few more days with our friend
Ice Ice Baby.
(now you sing it, Gwen)
Send fried chicken and Waldorf salad.
Cupcakes wouldn't hurt, either.
