I want all of you to sit down.
Are you ready? Are you steady?
I am opening shop.
How can I co-host a party for shop item swaps without a shop?
I have been nervous about it since Ann asked me, but I decided to say
"Oh, what the hell. Nothing will happen!"
I stopped stressing.
Then my embroidery machine jammed and made a lot of scary noises.
Was it a sign?
Then my camera pooped out on me.
Was it another sign?
The anxiety came back.
I have solved the camera problem and am hoping that by 7PM tonite,
my embroidery machine is up and running smoothly again.
I'm going forward.
I invite all of you with shops to join us.
I haven't decided where I'll sell from yet,
but welcome any advice from my girls "in the know".
Don't have a shop, but sell on ebay or FB or Instagram?
Come join us!
So many of you have shared your dream of having a shop of your own.
Why not now?
We'll help one another.
I challenge you to kick fear in the teeth and go for it.
Support is so rich in this community...we can do this, girls.
Together.
Come on, let's go.
I won't let this happen.
Hey you! Jiggly thighs, comfortable tummy and you big a**hole perfectionism...
I have this to say to you.

go, tina, go! :)
ReplyDeleteExciting Tina! I would stay away from Ebay. The fees have gotten way to high. Etsy was good to me when I had my baby boutique biz.
ReplyDeleteYAY! So excited for you. I've always dreamed of having a little shop some day but my darned "day job" keeps getting in the way of my dreams. xo
ReplyDeleteYou go girl. I cannot wait to see your treasures for sale.
ReplyDeleteKris
PS you were a winner on my giveaway. I will need your address
Love your towel, love the pics, love the message... Only need the idea and I'm in:@)
ReplyDeletePS-Knock 'em dead!!!
Just sell to me. I can put you stuff on consignment too
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Tina. I know if I could set up an Etsy shop, you can. When I go, i do not plan to leave any regrets behind.
ReplyDeleteYou my friend are big fat jiggly delight
ReplyDeleteYou can do it, I opened a shop on etsy, easy as pie!. Go for it!
ReplyDeleteGood Luck!
Karen @ The Decorated Nest
Congrats! I have a very neglected shop. This is encouraging. I need to get back in the game! Love your "nothing will happen" attitude. I need more of that too. Your embroidered towel is pretty. You can do this :-)
ReplyDeleteCool beans! I'm so glad you are taking the steps forward! You're right. Why not now? I don't have a shop or anything to sell except my skills as an editor. I am ready to ramp that up. :-)
ReplyDeleteI just love the quote you posted! (Did somebody get inside my head and figure out why I don't want to put on a bathing suit. hehe) Congratulations on making the decision to just go for it, Tina! You will be successful, I know, but more than that, you'll have fun with it.
ReplyDeleteWhat the what the!!! You know, people can't get cool embroidered stuff just anywhere, your shop is gonna be hopping cuz you make the coolest stuff. And I should know I have some.
ReplyDeleteThat's so awesome Tina! I'm still a bit of an etsy newbie myself, but if I can help in any way please just let me know. I was quite nervous when I first opened mine, but I just went for it. No regrets. I know you'll do just great!
ReplyDeleteI just love you Tina!!!! Congratulations girl! That towel is GORGEOUS....I'm just so excited for you. I love Etsy so much and have sold really well from my shop there. I market my new listings to my friends on FB and share them also on my blog. Just remember to be very thoughtful of your name when creating it. I named mine sewmanyroses and wish so bad that I would have named it The Feathered Nest. Yes, I can change the name but after this many years I figured why bother. Please share when you get everything going so I can share with my friends, OK? xxoo, Dawn
ReplyDeleteWhoohoo for you! Yea Tina!
ReplyDeleteI love this for so many reasons! Our booth in Greensboro has been a miserable failure (no traffic, and the place is sinking fast), so DL and I have decided to set up an ETSY! Yay for you! (Love your embroidery, and I will promote what you have, girl!)
ReplyDeleteYou go girl! I don't sell anything...but I'll enjoy seeing what everyone else does!
ReplyDeleteOh, so exciting!! I'm so happy {and proud} of you! xo
ReplyDeleteoh, congrats on doing what you love, tina! wishing you tons of fun! love your towel, too! (i take my jiggly thighs into the ocean every chance i get:)
ReplyDeleteYay! I'm so excited for you! Etsy fees have gotten high....I use Storenvy for my paint and they are free. Once you set everything up, they email you when you've made a sale! Super easy and they have a good, modern look. My SIL sells individual items on FB easily.....just posts it and then tells folks to PM her if they want it ! I agree with Bliss....custom embroidery is not easy to find and you will do well!
ReplyDeleteVery exciting Tina! Congratulations. You will do VERY well :)
ReplyDeleteYou go, girl.
ReplyDeleteWoohoo! I'm thrilled for you. And that quote hits home with me. I needed to hear it.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you kicked it in the teeth. We're going to have a blast helping one another grow successful businesses! ~Ann
ReplyDeleteTarnished Royalty
Good for you! I can't wait to get more news.
ReplyDeleteI love the quote. I'm 66, and my motto since I was in my late teens has been "I'm going to live my life so I won't think of anything I wish I'd done in the last minutes before I die." I have jiggly thighs and a big, comfortable tummy, but I've swum in oceans, I've gone all the places I've wanted to go, I've written, I've had a shop, and I've had an improbable but great love affair.
I say GO FOR IT!
Tina,
ReplyDeleteI am over the Moon excited or you. Today I did a note on Facebook about starting to blog just 9 months ago. I have been happy with Letting my creative spirit dance ever since. Congratulations on your new Shop.

Are you reading my mind? I've been toying with just this thing.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog and leaving such a nice comment. I'm your newest follower. So glad to have met you and Revi.
SO excited for you Tina - you do such incredible work I know you'll be a " hit " once you start !
ReplyDeleteYour biggest fan!
xoxo
You go girl! Way to be BOLD!
ReplyDeleteI love your profile and The Keeping Room name on Etsy. I'd fill that puppy up with your gorgeous embroidery. I don't make quit your day job money on Etsy, but I do little or nothing to promote my shop and I have made several sales. When I have more time I will do more to promote my shop. For now it more than pays for itself and I thoroughly enjoy the Etsy atmosphere.
ReplyDeleteBest of luck! Linda
I'm just wondering what took you so long! You have great stuff!! I'd love to carry your stuff in my shop, as well.
