Things change when a big dog becomes part of the family.
I realized that our front door glass was going to be smashed to smithereens
unless we took some sort of precaution.
The rambunctious Bruce-inator doesn't know his own strength
and he really likes to greet visitors at the front door.
These old shutters were the right width and just a tad too long,
but the additional length protects the mahogany from Bruce's grizzly claws.
I added my antique glass doorknobs and just a bit of AS Chalk Paint.
I'm searching for the perfect old latch, but added a simple screen door latch until I find it.
I can open the shutters anytime and the additional privacy it provides is great.
Not to mention the blocking of our Texas afternoon sun.
The most difficult part was convincing Magoo to hang them.
He didn't want to drill into the wood.
That was code for he didn't want to get up off of the couch.
Eventually he got up and he did a good job.
I'm determined to make that man do more around here.
Wish me luck. ; )

Bruce is the only pup tall enough to see out- he reports back to his commander.
She's satisfied that all is well.
