It is the time for home...

I did this embroidery on cream linen last year, but never got around to making the pillow.
I stitched it up last night and added a ribbon of torn velvet.
I wish I had trimmed it in this ribbon instead, but oh, well.
It will be put away in a week, so I didn't even stitch the bottom closed.
Nothing will happen, right?

Winter never really arrived this year.
We are enjoying temps in the high 60's today, with a cool front approaching.
Our lows will then dip into the high 30's.
Welcome to winter in south Texas.
I feel bad for my friends up north...even Texas has snow somewhere.

Did you get some up in the Panhandle?

I love these words and so agree.

It is the time for home.

  1. I like the sentiment--It is the time for home. And you did a lovely job on the pillow! Not much of a winter here in central Virginia either. :-(

  3. Tina.... I think we need to see more of your house. I was gawking really hard to see more of a room I think I would really like.

  4. Your pillow is gorgeous! We are still buried in snow (even though some melted today) and we have another system coming tomorrow. They aren't sure if it will be snow or rain...weathermen. lol

  5. Your needlework is beautiful, glad you brought it out to enjoy for a bit! Mild winter here in Philly too, but I don't say that too loudly, we're no stranger to March snow storms:@)

  6. Beautiful handwork! It just turned cold here after several unseasonably warm days, so I'm ready for some winter sentiments.

  7. You gto you pillow made in the nick of time! Even way up north, the weather is warm and sunny and the snow is melting.

I'd love to sit on that cozy chair by the fireplace. The pillow is perfect right where it is.

  11. I have a pillow similar that began as a white dishtowel..love the saying! We got 19" of snow in one day..at least that's what they said in amarillo, lots stuck on the scary roads. I was stuck inside a nice warm home and should have been sewing cute pillows

  13. What a beautiful pillow Tina!!! I don't want anything that reminds me of winter anymore though lol - here in Montreal it's hit that grey dirty looking stuff stage.

  17. I dream of moving south to get away from our winters. Then I could just go "visit" some snow if I want to see it all pretty like.

What kind of embroidery machine do you have? My mom and I were talking about them the other day. She is interested in purchasing one and likes what you have done with yours.

  25. Such a pretty pillow with lovely wording. We don't get a lot of snow in the piedmont of NC...more ice than anything. I miss living in the mountains for this reason and many more.

  27. Sounds like you are having the same Winter we are. Only we aren't getting into the 30's but should get into the 40's tomorrow night. I'm loving it. Home is definitely the place to be with cushy socks, a blanket and a cup of tea.

  29. A nice sentiment and lovely pillow. Our winter in the foothills here in the pacific northwest has been milder than most. I always look forward to the change of seasons as it parallels life.

Your chair is perfect placed .. and ready for someone to sit upon it with a great book:)
