Moldy Girl relocated.

 Witchy Poo is almost ready.

 Hello Kitty.

Time for the Renaissance Festival...my oldest wouldn't miss it.

Lantana and plumbago.

A little more to do and we'll be ready for tricks and treats.

I'll be waiting...don't forget the chocolate.  ;  )

Moldy Girl

Poor Moldy Girl isn't feeling the love.

She's not so scary.  Unless you're a sissy.  ;  )

Antique Baby Carriage

I waited for the price to drop on this and was so happy that I got it.
It's in such good shape and will look so spooky loaded with pumpkins or creepy babies for Halloween.
Not that I have any creepy babies.
I do have a small statue that scares the crap-ola out of my 22 yr. old son.

He calls her moldy girl and has threatened to throw her over the fence if I don't take her away.
Being the prankster I am, I have giggled to myself about the fun I'd have if I stood her at the foot of his bed.

His older brother suggests that it would be great fun to take moldy girl up to college and leave her in little brother's apartment.

Yeah, the acorn doesn't fall far from the tree.

Insert evil laugh here.

I've been on a roll lately with my "baby finds"...
you've seen the high chair and now the carriage.
I will post about the chippy blue iron bed very soon!

So I ask you this- leave the carriage as is or paint it?  I need to seal it at the very least so it doesn't get old peeling paint all over the place.  I've cleaned it, but
I don't want to diminish it's value.

Any suggestions from you antique gals that do restoration?

Hmmm....what to do?

Can you help a sista out?

Versatile Blogger Award

Surprise, surprise, surprise!  ( In my head I say that like Gomer Pyle.  Doesn't everyone? )

Today,  Melissa at Made In The South  passed on the Versatile Blogger Award to me!  Yay!

Thanks so much, Melissa.  I love your blog and am so pleased that you chose to pass this on to me when there are so many wonderful blogs to choose from.  Being a newbie blogger is hard.   I had no idea how time consuming and exhausting it would be.  Some days my brain is just on overload.  There is so much to learn and at times it is really frustrating... so it means a lot to me to get this from you.  :  )
I hope it means I'm doing something right!

If you agree, please follow me and don't forget to sign up for the giveaway ending Friday night.

The rules for this award are:
  • Thank and link back to the person who gave you this award
  • Share 7 things about yourself
  • Send it to 15 other bloggers and let them know you have awarded them!

    7 things about me
1.  I collect squirrels and acorns.  All kinds, from wood carved to artwork to Steiff.
I even have a squirrel lamp and pink squirrel underwear.  For a squirrel!  Not me.  We say "skirl" around here because one of our sons called them that.

  • 2.  I hate fish.  Unless it has Filet-o-fish on the wrapper.  This disgusts my husband.

    3.  I am terrified of scorpions.  I used to be afraid of giant tree roaches, but those suckers don't have anything on Texas scorpions.  Just saying the word make me shudder.  After building a new house in Austin, they were everywhere.  And they sting like hell.  Those freaky little clear bellied geckos give me the willies, too.

    4. I like to play practical jokes on my hubby, Magoo.  He started it!

    5. I have a thing for books.  I confess that I am now, and have always been, a book sniffer.  Yeah, I said it.

    6.  I hate Diet Coke.  I want the original, the real deal.
It's the real thing, after all.
Are you singing it now?  I am.

    7.  I speak  Seinfeld.  If we couldn't use show lines, this family wouldn't be able to communicate.  Completely tongue tied.  We reference it a million times a day.  Yeah, yeah...you better think again, Mojambo!

And so without further ado~  Here are the blogs I've selected.
Ladies and Gentlemen, the awards go to....

Formerly the blog Blackberry Farm, Cindy was asked to vacate her blog by the legal eagles from Blackberry Farm in Tennessee.  58th&Olive is her new home.

I hope you enjoy these wonderful blogs.  They are all quite different, as I have many interests.   Some I've read for awhile, some I have just discovered.
As a new blogger, I'm very excited when I discover a kindred spirit.
I hope you'll check them out and enjoy them as much as I do.

Don't forget to visit Melissa, too!

Thanks and I really hope to see you all soon,

    Tina

Fall-ing Slowly

Yes, I love that song.
But in this instance, I'm referring to fall-ing slowly around my house.

As in, I am in the process of painting, organizing and cleaning so much that my fall decorations are a little behind schedule this year.

As a new empty nester, I may have gone a little crazy yanking everything out of the boys rooms and falling into the pit of dirt and debris that they left behind for me to deal with.  You know, because I have nothing better to do.  Gag.  Boys are just P-I-G-S.  No offense, Wilbur.

Yes, I'm in my pj's all day making a big mess in every damn room in this house.  If you know me, you also know that this house is large.  So imagine the chaos I've created.  And now all my helpers/furniture movers have flown the coop!  What to do?    If I'd concentrate on one room I'd be a lot more effective, but I'm trying to work in too many areas at once.   I don't know how I'm supposed to get anything done without my boys here.   I realize what a big help they were....sigh.  I miss them.

Somebody please slap me off of Melancholy Road before I eat an entire crumb cake.

I may not be able to move after tomorrow-  I started painting the wood blinds on a very large window.
Mad as a hatter, I am.
It's not fun.  Keep your fingers crossed that I don't tumble off the ladder.  Like I've told you before-
 I'm a total spaz.

I can relate, Hatter.

Here are a few sneak peeks of the areas I have done something with...

My little fawn music box hides a dark and disturbing secret.  I've loved John Denver since I was little.
It plays Annie's Song.  Shall I sing?  Hey, where did all my readers go?

One of my favorite floral creations.

 A peek at the mantle.

A peek at a newly painted frame around my crazy barnyard birds painting.  I was laughed out of the family when I bought it in 1999.

One of my favorite fall embroidery quotes...which ties in to the October giveaway.  I realize I skipped September, but you'll enjoy the goodies I send.  Forgive me?

Giveaway for The Nothing Will Happen Club starts Monday~

Enjoy your weekend and thanks so much for stopping by~

Kid in a Candy Shop... a few pics of my recent treasure hunt. Forgot camera. Thanks, iPhone.

Going back for him...he'll live in our backyard.
Will only need 4 burly men to lift him.

Regret...why didn't I buy these?

Love these.

$945 for the big daddy?  Out of my price range.

Sigh...no words needed.

Gorgeous.

More fencing and gates.

What globes?  I want the cabinet!

Lots of iron stars.  I love the old steps.

See the bronze ducks?

Green gate?  Yes.

Not my thing, but still wonderful to look at.

Large rusty chains.  More regret.

I want them all.  I spent a lot of time in these bins.
The more expensive ones are in cases.
What's not to love?

Go.

I could literally spend days digging thru patina rich cast offs
from another era.  How about you?

Giveaway will start at the end of the week for
The Nothing Will Happen Club!

Enjoy your Sunday.  :  )
